今天我们来看2019年全国卷一和二
把里头一词多义的部分挑出来详细解读
waste
Every year about 40,000 people attempt to climb Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa. They bring with them lots of waste. The crowds might damage the beauty of the place.

第一句话说的是每年大概4万人爬非洲最高的山
后面紧接着有waste的句子就出来了
说这些人会带着很多waste爬山
最后说的是这些人群可能会损毁这个地方的美
虽然原文waste并非是选项而是直接提供
但是我们也可以学到它的多种意思
一般说到waste我们常用有浪费
比如waste time/money浪费时间/金钱
但是这里作为名词形式指“废物/废水”
toxic waste有毒废物
除此之外waste还可能当做“错过机会”
比如 Don’t waste the opportunity to apply this job.
“别浪费这次申请工作的机会”

前面说在许多文化里山被视为是心灵之地
view在这里是横线选项
我们知道view有“景色”的意思
比如“The view from the window”窗外的景色
但是在这里view是观点、看法的含义
“A and B have similar views on C event.”
A和B对C事件有着相同的看法
Trouble
Ehlers thought about the small dog he had seen trembling alongside the road. He had tried to coax the dog to him but, frightened, it had run off. Back home, Ehlers was troubled by that lost dog.

他设法将狗哄到他那里但是因为狗害怕结果他逃跑了
回家以后，Ehlers一直被那只跑丢了的狗troubled
Troubled在原文里并非划线单词
但是我们一般想到trouble这个词
肯定会知道他是“麻烦”的意思
但这里他是烦恼的意思
Troubled就是让人觉着苦恼的
trouble还可以当骚乱
比如“Anyone who makes trouble at the event will be arrested.”
任何人在活动场地引起骚乱都会被捕
close
I figured whoever lost the dog was probably just as close to it as I am to my dogs.

close是一个选项
这句话说的是“我想不管是谁丢了这只狗估计都像我和我狗一样也和他关系很近吧。”
close是一个非常典型的一词多义词
光我们知道的常见用法就很多
作为动词有关闭、合上（书）、闭上（眼睛）
其他可能大家不是很熟悉的用法有
结案：“The case is closed.”
银行账户结清：I have closed my account.
股票收盘：The U.S. dollar closed higher in Tokyo today.
作为形容词有靠近的、近的
还有这里用的亲密的意思
除此之外还可以用来形容“势均力敌”
比如“It was a close match.” 这场比赛势均力敌
